Evidence status
Azeroth Survivors tier list status
A tier list is only helpful when the version, test route, and assumptions are visible. The current public references confirm many classes and movement abilities, but they do not provide enough controlled runs for a permanent ranking.
Current position
The responsible ranking is still provisional.
Use the classes and builds pages to start testing. A future ranking should compare the same zone, time window, upgrade rules, and player objective across classes.
- S tier should mean consistently strong under a stated version and route.
- A class that is easy for beginners can deserve a different label from a class with a higher expert ceiling.
- Movement, clear speed, survivability, and boss pressure should be scored separately before one letter is assigned.
- Every ranking needs a date and a reason it changed.
What to record
Make future rankings reproducible.
If you are testing a class, keep a small run log. The goal is not to collect perfect laboratory data; it is to avoid turning a lucky run into a universal claim.
- Game build or source URL
- Race, class, and zone
- Level and time reached
- Upgrade choices and movement spell use
- Boss result and failure reason
Four useful questions
A tier label should explain what it measures
One letter hides several different player needs. Separate the measures first, then decide whether a summary label is still helpful.
Learning
Beginner control
How forgiving is the class when positioning is imperfect or the screen becomes crowded?
Waves
Clear speed
How reliably does the build create a safe route through ordinary enemies?
Survival
Room to recover
Can the player regain space after a mistake, especially around movement and camera control?
Boss
Pressure over time
Does the build keep enough damage and mobility when a longer encounter changes the route?
Publication rule
A useful ranking needs a visible test frame
Readers should be able to see what was compared and why a label changed. A tier page without that frame is only an opinion with extra formatting.
- Name the source or game build and the date of the test.
- Keep the zone, starting assumptions and upgrade rules visible.
- Separate beginner ease from expert ceiling instead of forcing one score.
- Show sample run results and explain ties or unusual failures.
- Update the ranking when the evidence changes, not only when a page needs fresh text.
FAQ
Quick answers
Can I use this page as a current meta tier list?
Not yet. It is an evidence note explaining what a useful ranking needs. Check the update date and wait for named tiers with versioned run records.
Why not copy a ranking from another site?
A ranking without a source, version, and route cannot be audited. This guide keeps its own evidence boundary so a copied opinion does not look like a tested fact.
Why can a beginner-friendly class rank differently from a high-ceiling class?
The two labels answer different questions. A forgiving movement tool can help a new player survive, while a harder class may reward precise positioning after more practice.
Will this page eventually show named tiers?
It can when version-labeled, repeatable runs support them. Until then, the page explains the evidence standard rather than inventing a permanent meta.
