Play and download

Where to play Azeroth Survivors

The fastest route is the creator's browser page. The creator page also exposes a Windows download when the browser path is unavailable. A separate GitHub repository documents a from-source local rebuild; it is not the original creator's repository.

Recommended route

Start with the creator-hosted page.

Open the creator page and let it check whether your browser can use WebGPU. This keeps the game files and current availability under the creator's control.

  • Use a current Chrome, Edge, or Safari browser with WebGPU support.
  • If the page reports that WebGPU is unavailable, follow the browser troubleshooting steps before looking for another download.
  • If the host is busy, use the creator's Discord or the download option shown on the creator page.

Separate project

The GitHub rebuild has its own prerequisites.

The community repository describes a Rust and Bevy local build, with a large client-data download and a local web server. It is useful for technical readers, but it is a separate project with separate setup steps.

  • Read the repository README before cloning or running its Makefile.
  • The repository says it does not ship Blizzard game files; it expects user-supplied client data.
  • Do not describe the repository build as the official creator download.

Choose by goal

The three entry paths answer different needs

The creator page is the shortest route to play. The Windows link is an alternate creator-provided route. The GitHub project is for readers who want to build a separate local version from source.

Fastest

Browser play

Use the creator page when you want to start a run without setting up a local toolchain.

Alternate

Windows route

Use the creator's published Windows download when browser play is unavailable or inconvenient.

Technical

Local rebuild

Follow the repository README when you want to inspect or build the separate Rust and Bevy project.

Before a local build

Check the toolchain and data requirements first

The community project is designed to build from source and reads user-supplied WoW 1.12.1 client data. Its setup is much larger than opening the creator page.

  • Have Rust, make, curl, unzip and a bash shell available.
  • On Windows, use Git Bash for the repository scripts rather than PowerShell or cmd.
  • Read the current README and Makefile before starting the data download.
  • Expect the documented build flow to fetch roughly 5.5 GB of client data unless you already have a compatible Data folder.
  • Run make build, then make start, and open the local address printed by the project.

FAQ

Quick answers

Does this guide host the game files?

No. It links to the creator's page and published community references. Game files and any required client data remain at their respective sources.

Is the GitHub repository the official game?

No. Its README identifies it as a separate from-source local build of the fan game by Aethus. Keep its setup and claims separate from the creator-hosted browser page.

Can the local build run without a server or account?

The community README describes its build as offline and self-contained, with no server, login or account. You still need to follow its data and toolchain requirements.

Why is the local download so large?

The documented build fetches the WoW 1.12.1 client data used at runtime. That data is separate from the repository source and is not hosted by this guide.
